[Class 122 (i)] To facilitate assembly of a piston in its cylinder, a piston or scraper ring is held in the compressed condition by means of pins or a forked member 8 engaging registering holes 6a, 7 b in the ring and wall of the groove. The holes may be parallel or at right angles to the piston axis and may extend wholly or partially through the ring.
