[Class 93] The surface of a fibrous material is decorated by applying to the surface a loose retaining wall, applying a resinous composition inside the area, and allowing or causing this composition to set, thus securing the wall to the surface. This wall W, examples of which are shown in the drawings, may be made of metal (e.g. in the form of sheet, tube or wire), synthetic resin, glass, wood or stiffened textile fabric. The resinous composition R may have a basis of a synthetic resin (e.g. urea-formaldehyde resin) and may be mixed with pigments, dyes, fillers and/or a hardening agent. The fabric F may consist of textile or knitted fabrics of silk, rayon, cotton, wool, or mixtures of fibres, or any fibrous materials used in dressmaking, or leather, wood, artificial leather, paper or cardboard. Holes may be forced in the fabric to produce a riveting effect with the resinous composition, pins may be stuck through the wall for the same purpose, and the resin may be set by the application of heat.
