[Class 20(iii)] The mitred corners of tubular metal door and window frames are joined by gussets or inserts 5 cast in situ by pouring molten metal into apertures in the tubular members after they have been placed in their final position. Before casting, the tubular members may be blanked off at a distance from the mitres equal to the desired length of the arms of the gusset. The gusset may be positively secured by the cast metal extending into the casting apertures 8 or screws &c. 7 may be passed into the gussets through other apertures in the tubular members.
