611,935. Burglar and like alarms. BERG, R. E. April 5, 1946, No. 10562. [Class 118 (i)] A portable cash-box or like receptacle having an alarm system of the type wherein, on the box being moved, a pin projecting through an aperture in the base is adapted to close an alarm circuit is characterised by the provision of a pair of external sockets or the like to which an additional remote alarm may be connected. When a box 11 (Fig. 2) is lifted or moved, a pin 15 (Figs. 2, 3 and 4) projecting through an aperture 16 permits a spring 13 to make contact with a second spring 14 to close the circuit of a bell 10, in parallel with which are two external sockets 17. The spring 13 further depresses the second spring 14 until an extension 25 of the latter latches beneath a tooth of a third contact spring 20 wired in parallel with spring contact 13, in order that the alarm may not be stopped if the spring 13 is raised, e.g. by inserting a pencil through the aperture 16. This feature of mechanically locking the second spring forms the subjectmatter of Specification 612,004. In order to stop the alarm or set it in a " safe " condition, a crank, 30 is turned, raising spring 13 and forcing spring 20 out of engagement with spring 14. Specification 24677/10, [Class 118 (i)], also is referred to.
