The vertically-adjustable upper feed rollers of a frame saw are each carried by a rack engaged by a pinion on the shaft of a rotary hydraulic motor 1 to which power is supplied by a reversible hydraulic pump 6 and the pumps are driven by an electric motor 15 which, through an infinitely-variable hydraulic transmission 10 and gearing 17, also drives the bottom rollers. The pumps may be designed for constant delivery or variable delivery and are controlled by levers 11, 12 to which remote controls may be connected.
