Improvements in or relating to setting fabric of synthetic linear polyamide fibre yarns

Fabrics containing synthetic linear polyamide yarns are heat-set by immersion in mercury at a temperature between 25 DEG C. below the melting point of the polyamide and 160 DEG C., while the fabric is held extended by mechanical means. Specified polyamides are polyhexamethylene adipamide, polyhexamethylene sebacamide, polypentamethylene sebacamide and polyethylene octadecanedioic diamide.
