Class 94(ii) [Also in Group XXVIII] A suction cleaner filter bag 11, Fig. 7, has its feed inlet opening 21 covered by an elastic membrane 30 having an aperture 31 of less cross-sectional dimensions than and in register with the opening 21 tending to prevent egress of dust and capable of being stretched within the elastic limit to accommodate a tubular feed member 18, Fig. 8. The bag is of folded paper with its neck adhesively secured to a stiff plate 20 provided with the opening 21 and carrying the membrane 30. Initially the aperture 31 is sealed by a narrow strip of paper 32 having a weakened section 35 which breaks on insertion of the tube 18. On withdrawing the tube 18 the strip 32 is trapped inside the bag by the membrane as shown in Fig. 9. In a modification the elastic membrane comprises overlapping sheets with the aperture in the overlapping parts. Specification 629,674 is referred to.
