697,956. Knitting-machines. MELLOR, BROMLEY & CO., Ltd. March 8, 1951. [March 10, 1950] No. 6026/50. Class 74 (ii). Means are provided for effecting the delivery of welt rods, one at a time, from a magazine and for presenting them in a position for engagement by the draw-off hooks of the welt turning mechanism. The magazine 42 is disposed in front of the needle line, and each of the two usual draw-off straps 18 of a single-head machine or of a division of a multi-division machine is provided with a projection 31, which in the reverse movement of the straps engages a rod 17 and propels it along a guide track 54 to a position above the welt bar 11. The rods 17 are gravity fed from the magazine and the lowermost rod is released when the reverse face of the draw-off hooks 55 engages the lower ends 24 of members 19 arranged at each end of the magazine and moves a projection 21 on each member 19 from beneath the rod. A second projection 22 is moved at the same time beneath the second lowest rod to prevent its delivery. Specification 682,328 is referred to.
