Classes 16 and 146(2) A stationery unit comprises two or more superposed sheets or sheet portions connected together at or adjacent their leading edges, the outermost sheet or portion being provided with a pocket or recess adjacent to but spaced from the leading edge and from the edge of which pocket a tongue extends towards the trailing edge to guide the feeding element of a feeding device into the pocket. The feeding device is described and claimed in Specification 749,936 [Group XVI] and the units are placed in a pile on a sharply curved -base so that the tongue of the top unit becomes outwardly positioned with respect to the unit to assist the feeding. Manifolding units. As shown in Fig. 1, a manifolding unit comprises sheets 1, 2 with carbon 3 interposed secured together by a' line of adhesive a adjacent to the edge 4, a stub portion 6 being formed by lines of perforations 5. A tongue 7 of semicircular shape extends from the line 5 of the top sheet 1 to form an opening 8. A number of modifications are described, in which the line of adhesive lies on the edge 4; is replaced by a line of spots of adhesive or by staples; or a central short line of adhesive on the edge 4 is joined by lines of adhesive to the outer edges of the tongue 7; with the line of adhesive along the edge 4, the tongue 7 may be positioned in the stub portion 6. Envelopes. As shown in Fig. 8, the wrapper envelope 21, with tongue 22 to engage a slot 23, is provided with a tongue 24a in the top sheet portion 24, spaced from the fold line 21a to form the pocket between the edge of the tongue and the fold.
