[Also in Group XL (c)] In a television transmission system in which two vision signals (colour or stereoscopic picture components) 1 and 2 are simultaneously transmitted by a symmetrically amplitude modulating the positive and negative half-cycles respectively of a sub-carrier 3 which modulates the main carrier 5, the black level of both signals is represented by zero subcarrier, and the synchronizing pulses are provided by keying the main carrier. The pulses may, Fig. 4 (not shown), be represented by full carrier instead of zero. Specification 776,989, [Group XL (c)], is referred to.
