Class 136(1) In a hooded handlebar lever of the kind comprising a hood-like bracket 11 of boxlike shape and of sheet metal seamed tubular construction, a lever 14 having one end pivotally mounted within the bracket, and means for securing the bracket to a handlebar including a band 12 adapted to encircle the bar and screw means 15 within the bracket for pulling the band into the bracket, a further box-like part 13 made of sheet metal seamed tubular construction is fitted within the bracket and carries both the pivot 13e for the lever and the fixing screw 15, the bracket having inwardly directed tongues 11d, 11e in interengagement with the pivot carrier 13. The seamed portion of the pivot carrier is embraced by a seamless U-shaped part of the bracket 11 and the seamed part of the bracket is complementary to a seamless U- shaped part of the pivot carrier. The tongues 11d, 11e engage with the sides of the pivot carrier and secure the seam 11c, Fig. 6 (not shown)', of the bracket against opening.
