In a modification of the hooded handlebar lever of the parent Specification the edges of the seam of the bracket are secured to one another. As shown in Fig. 1, a disc like plate 12 is welded across the seam 11 or the edges of the seam 16 may be directly interlocked by a dovetail formation 17 (Fig. 3). Alternatively the butting edges of the seam may be directly welded together.
