In a mounting for operating levers on motorcycle handlebars, the bearing of a lever handle 14 comprises two shell sections 2, 3 which abut each other in a mean longitudinal plane of the handlebar 1 and which enclose the latter, the sections embracing the lever handle 14 in the form of a casing in the region of its pivot pin 16 and also at the outlet of the operating cable 18, an abutment 19 for the operating cable also being formed in one of the. sections. A clamping collar 7 is formed on the section 2 to embrace the handlebar 1. A clamping spring 9 is connected to the section 3 and also embraces the handlebar, the ends of the spring 9 being engaged by a locking spring 10 secured to the section 2. Fitting pins 11, 12 and 13 are provided between the two sections 2, 3, the pins being fixed in one section and engaging in holes in the other. The pin 13 is longer than the pins 11, 12. The lever 14 has a bearing pin 16 which is inserted in recesses in the sections 2, 3. The sections are formed as a guide means and abutment 21 for a twist grip sleeve 22.
