[Also in Groups II and XXXV] Tobacco in the hopper 6 of a cigarette-making machine is raked by prongs 1, pairs of which are magnetized by bar magnets 16 and attached by brazing 13 and nuts 15 to heads 2 of arms 3 on a shaft 4 oscillated from a crank 11 by linkage 10, 9, 8. A spring-loaded drive-pin (not shown) passing through the member 8 may be engaged with one or other of two bores in the shaft 4 to position the prongs 1 for operation or in a raised attitude for cleaning. The magnets 16 are rectangular blocks each having a central facial groove for location by a bolt 17.
