A new or improved poultry-feeding apparatus

A poultry-feeding unit comprises a trough 1, a feed container 2, a control operable to allow feed to pass from the container into the trough, and a nesting-box 4 slidable on the container in order to open it. Access for birds to the nesting box 4 is from the front of the unit (see Fig. 2) by a perch 5 and openings 6. Control gates 7 on the rear wall of the container are manually operated to allow gravity supply from the container, the floor of which is sloped, Fig. 3, (not shown). The gates 7 may be weighted and have thin lower edges sharpened. The nesting- box is partitioned at 8 and has draught baffles 9 ; flaps 10 are for egg collection. A hinged bar 11 may be used to prevent entry by fowls and a grid 13 may be fitted above the trough 1. Where several such units are arranged together, some of the units may be built for grain storage, their containers being enlarged to include the nesting-box space.
