908,120. Jet propulsion nozzles. BRISTOL SIDDELEY ENGINES Ltd. April 10, 1959 [April 10, 1958], No. 11436/58. Class 110 (3). A jet propulsion nozzle comprises an outer tubular member surrounding an inner tubular member which are spaced apart to provide an outer annular discharge passage of convergentdivergent form and an inner discharge passage which is of convergent form and adapted to discharge from the whole cross-section it encloses. The propulsion nozzle shown comprises an outer member 15 and an inner member 13, both of circular section and spaced apart by fins 14. The inner member 13 has a downstream convergent part 16 arranged so that the area A 1 is greater than the exit area A 2 . The outer member 15 has a cylindrical part 25 and a convergent part 26 and is arranged relative to the inner member 13 so that the entrance area A 3 of the outer annular passage converges to a throat A 5 and then diverges to the exit which has an area A 5 which is greater than A 3 . A shroud surrounding and spaced from the member 15 may be provided to form an annular passage for air to be mixed with the propulsion jet.
