Class 117 Apparatus for removing the kernels of nuts from broken shells &c. has a feed trough 7 with an outlet slot 8 through which the mixture of kernels and shells &c. falls to be actec upon by an air stream from a wind tunnel 6, whereby the shells &c. are blown away and the kernels pass down a shoot 17 to a collector 18. The tunnel includes an axial flow propeller 16 with its shaft 14 spring urged against a manually rotated drive wheel 11 supported by a bearing 12. The feed trough is removably supported on members 6a and 9a.
