Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] A mixture of different kinds of material e.g. straw chaff with grain or hay chaff with foreign bodies, is conveyed by a pnuematic conveyer 1 to a separator 46 and distributed therein by a rotary spreader 10 mounted on the end of the conveyer. The shaft 7 supporting the spreader can be adjusted to vary the angle between its axis and the longitudinal axis of the separator. The separator is fitted with adjustable baffles 47, 48 and is connected to a blower 51, a suction pipe 49 and a pneumatic conveyer 50. The located or lower lying storage containers out between the baffles and the lightest ones pass into the pipe 49. Components of intermediate weight pass into the conveyer 50 to discharge, but may be diverted to the conveyer 1 for re-separation. Conventional screens 52 may be fitted. Each component may be diverted into laterally located or lower lying storage containers or conveying devices 53. Slides or flaps 54 in one end of the separator control the admission of air.
