Improvements relating to apparatus for supporting bobbins in textile machinery

The bobbin 26 is mounted on end members 24, 25 rotatably carried by the arms 2a, 2b. The end members 24, 25 are shaped to embrace the ends 3 and 4 of the arms 2a and 2b to direct any stray loops that fall off the bobbin away from bearings 22, 23 on the shafts 9, 10. The ends 3 and 4 are part spherical to cause said stray loops to move to the narrow portion of the ends 3 and 4. The ends 3, 4 are formed with grooves 3a, 4a into which a suitable implement can be inserted to withdraw such loose turns. The end members 24, 25 rotate on shafts 9, 10 that have screw threaded stems 7, 8 screwed into the arms 2a, 2b to permit their setting to be adjusted to suit the length of the bobbin 26 to be accommodated between the end members 24, 25. The threaded stems 7, 8 are a loose fit and unintentional rotation is prevented by O-ring 17, 18. The heads 20, 21 of the shaft 9, 10 may be eccentric with respect to the screwthreaded ends so that the bobbin can be aligned to bring its axis into the correct relationship with a driving cylinder shown in broken lines. The member 25 carries a piece of material 27 to which a fresh yarn end can be stuck before winding on to the bobbin. The arm 2a can pivot about the axis 2c and both arms 2a, 2b are mounted on a body 2 that can rotate on the shaft 1.
