An electrical contact for use in an edge connector comprises a resilient portion 10 which is secured to a separately formed rigid metal portion 12 having a wiring tail 13 at one end and detent means 15 at the other end for snapping into a recess in the housing in which the contact is mounted. The rigid portion of the contact has two transverse extensions 17 and 18 which guide the contact into its correct position and keep the detent 15 in its recess. A shoulder 16 in the rigid portion abuts a shoulder 6 of the housing and prevents any upward movement of the contact. The resilient portion of each contact may be bifurcated. In a modification, a single rigid member may be provided for an opposed pair of cavities, instead of a separate contact being inserted in each cavity.
