[Also in Division B5] A diaper comprises an absorbing layer having separate depressions at least on one side thereof and a layer applied to the side and consisting of a wadding-like material which is highly pervious to liquid. The absorbent layer 3 consists of defibrated cellulose enclosed in an envelope comprising sheets 1, 2 of highly pervious cellulose wadding and having depression 4 formed by compressing or stamping. The depressions as channels may extend longitudinally or transversely of many intersect. The depressions, as spots, may extend in short rows. A soft layer 6 of rayon staple is attached to one side and the diaper covered by an envelope 7 of woven or knitted netting or a wrapper of non-woven material.
