Game apparatus for simulating a sport in which a ball is hit, comprises articulated figures which can be controlled by the players and which are arranged between two parallel planes inclined with respect to the horizontal, the plane nearer the players being transparent and between which the ball is caused to move by action of the articulated figures, wherein the rear plane represents an actual sports ground as would be seen in perspective by an observer situated slightly above the ground, so that the different figures arranged one above another simulate actual players in the breadth of an actual sports ground. In the accompanying Figure the apparatus is seen perpendicularly with respect to the plane of the game and one half shows the mechanism of the figures. The ball 3 is propelled by the limbs 4 of figures 5 which are controlled by push-buttons 14 and 14a. The playing area is delimited by curbs 6 and 7 and a goal is scored when the ball enters aperture 8 whence it passes by channel 10 to its lowest point where it may be struck by pusher 11 and re-enter play at 13. A game simulating tennis wherein the limbs of the players are moved by pulleys and belts is also described.
