[Also in Division D2] An endless belt comprises a rubber-impregnated fabric carcass 20 (rubber includes like elastomeric material), a rubber back 22, a rubber top 26 and rubber side edges 24 incorporating a strengthening cord fabric 34 the cords of which extend lengthwise of the belt, said belt having holes 32 therethrough. The side edges of the top 26 may be of relatively soft flexible rubber as opposed to the main top portion which is of hard abrasion resistant rubber. The rubber back may be loaded with anti-friction material, e.g. graphite, polythene or molybdenum sulphide and a leno breaker fabric 28 may be provided between the top and carcass. The belt is used between a Fourdrinier-type wire screen and suction box in paper making.
