[Also in Division B5] In a machine for producing ice-cream cones and the like, each cone is formed on a core which is mounted on a bed-plate so as to be axially movable to open or close a mix inlet through which mix can be forced, the core being spring urged into the closed position and acting as a valve. As shown, the core comprising a body 1 and bonnet 2 screwed thereto is urged against a seating 11, which is screwed to a bedplate by a spring 7 located on a spindle 5 which extends through a bore in the core body into a hollow 6 in the bonnet and is screwed to a cross-bar 12 spanning an inlet opening 13 in the seating. Mix forced through the opening 13 pushes the core off its seating and enters the space formed between the core and closed outer mould halves 3. An ejector plate 23 surrounds the seating and when the cone is cooked and the outer mould open, ram and cylinder means 26 are caused to operate whereby the plate is pushed upwards to eject the cone. Fins 22 on the ejector plate correspond to slots 21 on the seating.
