Sym-triazine organotin derivatives of the general formula FORM:1122595/C4-C5/1 wherein X1 and X2 each represent S, imino, or alkylimino or the direct bond; X3 is S or the direct bond; R1, R2, R3 each represent C1-C18 alkyl, C3-C18 alkenyl alicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group; R4 and R5 are H, C1-C18 alkyl, C3-C18 alkenyl alicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group, or together with the corresponding bridging groups X2 or X1 they represent the morpholine ring or when X1 or X2 is a direct bond, they also represen halogen, a halogenoalkyl or the group FORM:1122595/C4-C5/2 as well as their salts with inorganic or organic acids are biocidal agents and may be used in washing liquors containing anionic, non-ionic or amphoteric detergents and also in drycleaning liquids. The usual detergent additives may also be present. The compounds may also be used as additives for cutting oils. (see Examples 25.)ALSO:The invention comprises sym-triazine organotin derivatives of the general formula FORM:1122595/C2/1 wherein X1 and X2 each represent S, imino or an alkylimino group or the direct bond; X3 is S or the direct bond; R1, R2, R3 each represent C1-C18 alkyl, C3 to C18 alkenyl alicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group; R4 and R5 are H, C1-C18 alkyl, C3-C18 alkenyl, olicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group or together with the corresponding bridging member X2 or X1 they represent the morpholine ring or when X1 or X2 is a direct bond, they also represent halogen, a halogen-alkyl or the group FORM:1122595/C2/2 as well as their salts with inorganic or organic acids. The compounds are prepared by reacting a triazine derivative of the formula FORM:1122595/C2/3 where Q is SH or a halogen, with at least an equivalent of a compound FORM:1122595/C2/4 where Y is an atom or group which can be split off as anion or cation, under an inert atmosphere. The compounds are biocidal agents and may be used in pesticidal, disinfectant and deodorant compositions (see Division A5).ALSO:Symtriazine organotin derivatives of the general formula FORM:1122595/A5-A6/1 wherein X1 and X2 each represent S, imino, or alkylimino or the direct bond; X3 is S or the direct bond; R1,R2,R3, each represent C1-C18 alkyl, C3-C18 alkenyl, alicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group; R4 and R5 are H, C1-C18 alkyl, C3-C18 alkenyl, alicyclic or an optionally substituted phenyl group, or together with the corresponding bridging groups X2 or X1 they represent the morpholine ring, or when X1 or X2 is a direct bond, they also represent halogen, a halogenalkyl or the group - X3 - FORM:1122595/A5-A6/2 as well as their salts with inorganic or organic acids, are biocidal agents and may be used in pesticidal, disinfectant and deodorant compositions. The compounds of formula (I) may be used in combination with other antimicrobial substances e.g. halogenated diphenyl ureas, halogenated salicylaminides, halogenated hydroxy phenyl ethers halogenated benzoxazolones, polychlorohydroxy diphenyl methanes, halogenodihydroxy-diphenyl sulphides 2 iminoimidazolidines or -tetrahydropyrimidines, biocidal quaternary compounds or with tetramethyl thiuran disulphide in treating skins, leather, cellulose, wood, paper, textiles, paints, glues, plants, oils, plastics and synthetic fibres and as deodorant compositions such as ointments and creams. Solvents used include DMSO.
