摘要
Fluoro-halogenated propane is prepared by reacting a fluorinated or fluoro-halogenated ethylene with a halogenated methane at a temperature from 60 DEG to 150 DEG C., at a pressure from 6 to 30 kg./cm.2, over a period from 1 to 120 hours in the presence of gallium chloride and or bromide as catalyst. The ratio of fluorinated or fluoro-halogenated ethylene to halogenated methane is from 0.1 to 1 : 1, and the amount of gallium chloride and/or bromide is from 1 to 20% by weight with respect to the fluorinated or fluoro-halogenated olefine. Tetrafluoro, trifluoro, trifluorobromo, trifluorochloro and difluorodichloro ethylenes and carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and methylene chloride are mentioned and examples describe the reaction of 1.2 - difluoro - 1,2 - dichloroethylene with carbon tetrachloride to yield a product corresponding to 1,2-difluorohexachloropropane. The products are used as dielectric liquids and hydraulic and heat-exchanger fluid.
