1,206,831. Air-conditioning aircraft. SOC. BRONZAVIA. 31 Jan., 1968 [8 Feb., 1967], No. 4940/68. Heading F4V. In a supersonic aircraft in which air is delivered via inlets 5 to the cabin at about 0‹ C. and its humidity is nil, a liquid (e.g. water) is injected via entry points 6 in an atomized form the liquid vaporizing due to the temperature of the cabin atmosphere, the vapour being evacuated via an opening 7 and ducting 8 between the fuselage and the cabin wall 2 from which it enters the baggage compartment and is evacuated through an opening 9. This system removes some of the heat from the cabin walls and prevents freezing of the injected liquid. If the incoming air is at a temperature well above the freezing point of the liquid the inlets 5, 6 may be adjacent each other. The liquid may contain a perfume of disinfectant.
