An amusement or gaming machine includes a ticket-issuing machine in place of the usual coin or token pay-out mechanism, to deliver a ticket on each win. The tickets are drawn off a roll 2 by a feed drum 3 and fed to a guillotine 4. The feed drum is rotated by a ratchet mechanism (not shown) operated by an arm 5. A lever 11 pivoted at 12 has a forked end 13 controlling the guillotine and is connected to the arm 5 through a link 14. The other end of the lever is attached to a cam 16 rotated by an electric motor through a one-revolution clutch. The ticket is only partially severed from the strip by the guillotine. A brake may be associated with the feed drum to prevent more than one ticket being withdrawn from the machine at a time.
