A MANUAL AID TO SELECTIVE PLUCKING OF TEA

A device for selective plucking of teashoots manually comprises a nipping blade 3 having a plurality of notches 3A each flanked by a selector 1 projecting beyond and above the blade and provided with a shoot divider 2. The plucked shoots are collected in a container 6. Plucking is done by twisting the device by its handle 4 (Figs. I-IV not shown) or by a shoot bender 7 comprising bars 7A, 7B rotated by a crank handle 8 to direct the shoots towards the blade-edge. The device is provided with an arm-rest 10, a handle 4, arms 4A, 4B, and an extension piece 10. The bars 7A, 7B may be replaced by helical bars.
