A pack of tablets on the like for stimulating anovulatory cycles in human females comprises between 20 and 27 discrete dosage units (e.g. pills, tablets or capsules) packed in a tube or box or on a chart, the dosages being packed in a particular order together with printed or written instructions which, together with the manner of packing, provide guidance in relation to and facilitate the taking of the tables or the like in the correct schedule of first 6 to 13 units containing an oestrogenic compound only and subsequently 14 to 16 units containing a combination of an oestrogenic and a progestative compound at the appropriate times during the menstrual cycle. Suitable oestrogens are 17α-ethynyl-oestradiol and 3-alkyl ethers thereof and suitable progestagens are oestrane, androstane and pregnane compounds, e.g. 17α-ethynyl-19-nortestosterone; 17α-ethynyl-3-3desoxo-19-nortestosterone, their 17-acylates and #SP5(10)/SP- and #SP5(6)/SPisomers.
