(I) where R1 = H or 1-3C alkyl R2 = H or 1-4C alkyl R3 = Halogen, CN or CF3 R4 = halogen or R3 + R4= -O.CH2.O- with the proviso that R3 is not halogen in the 2-or 4-positions when R1 and R4 = H and R3 is not CF3 when R1 and R4 are H and R2 is Me. (B) Acid addition salts of (I) Anorexic agents with central excitation. 13.7g 1-(o-chlorophenoxy)-propanone-2-oxime in 100 ml Et2O added dropwise to 4.75g. LiAlH4 in 100 ml. Et2O over 1 1/2 hrs., the mixt. refluxed 1 hr., cooled and extd. gave 8.8g. 1-(o-chlorophenoxy)-2-aminopropane. HCl m.127-9 deg.C.
