One of the clamping discs consists of or is coated with highly elastic material, the other is of hard, inelastic material and has sharp edges and a rough surface. Specif. the elastic material is natural or synthetic rubber or plastic such as polyurethane elastomer, silicone rubber etc. The rough surface is manganese chilled cast iron in which corundum, quartz etc. is incorporated.
