The carriage comprises a framework pref. a transparent e.g. perspex safety screen fitted with access ports for equipment manipulation attached to the sets of friction rollers. The primary rollers act on the laboratory bench surface at an angle to the bench edge to ensure the carriage is firmly engaged to the edge during displacement operations to slide on the secondary rollers acting on the vertical bench edge. The angle of the primary rollers may be adjusted to suit the bench surface characteristics.
