A method of laying a tube 21 on subaqueous ground comprises arranging the major portion of the tube inside out and crimped around a small portion of the tube which has its end sealed, and filling the small portion with sand or stone from a moving source while unfolding the crimped portion. The small portion extends through a nozzle 22 around which the major portion is crimped. The nozzle and source are carried by a laying vessel which moves along the path where the tube is required. The tube may be used to minimize erosion of the ground or as dam.
