[Also in Division A4H] A constructional element or building component such as a metal window, or door frame, a shop fitting, furniture made of metal and structural or ornamental members for motor vehicle bodies comprises a plurality of rigid sections 1, 2 connected together by complementary channels and tongues, each section comprising a rigid metal core 4 e.g. of aluminium and a cladding 3 of a second metal, e.g. stainless steel and at least one barb 17 formed integrally with each side face of each tongue 16 so that when each tongue is fitted into its complementary channel the tongue, barbs and channel interfit to form a rigid joint. Two members such as 1, 2 may be joined by a connector member shown in Fig. 2, replacing the members 11, 12 shown in Fig. 1. The width across the tips of the barbs is preferably greater than the width of its associated channel or when the channel and tongue are long. The width across the tips of the barbs may be equal to the width of the channel.
