Salts of U, Pu, Tn or other transuranium elements, in soln. or dispersion, are injected in drops, using a gas syphon injector, into a bath of reactive liquid in which they fall to the bottom, the metal ions formed by the reaction coagulating into spherical fuel particles of uniform size and smooth finish. The bath is esp. cylindrical and injection is at an angle to the surface of less than 45 degrees esp. 25-35 degrees and into the peripheral area of the bath so that the drops have a tangential falling trajectory.
