A wall comprises horizontally extending planks 6 having splayed slots in their ends engaged by splayed engaging means 16 of connecting members 15 which have key members which engage in key locking slots extending along columns 1 or 21 between which the planks are erected. The columns are secured at their lower ends by the bottom row of planks 6, which in turn are secured to the ends of floor rafters by dovetailed tongue and groove connections. At certain locations, planks 6 may be joined by connecting members 25 having splayed engaging means extending in two opposed directions. The planks may have additional end slots engaged by weathering ribs 19. The columns may also carry weathering extensions 2a, 3a behind' which sealing material may be inserted.
