The program control device has a pulse generator driving a step switching mechanism connected to a control matrix contg. a number of channels. Each channel generates an output signal when the switching mechanism reaches the corresp. position, and each channel has an associated relay. - The device is designed to enable the speed of operation of the program to be varied. The pulse generating device contains two oscillators of different frequencies and a flip-flop. The flip-flop controls the pulse generator output using one of oscillators according to the condition of one of the relays. - An external pulse generator may also be selected.
