Surface roughness test of cylindrical parts seated in prismatic body uses two swivel arms connected with each other by means of hinged joint (3). One swivel arm (1) comprises a prismatic seating (4) for the cylindrical part to be tested and the other swivel arm (2) supports a probe (6, 6') which is directly opposite the seating (4). - The centre line of the prismatic seating (4) and of the prismatic point (5) and the hinge axis (3) make an angle (BETA) which is smaller than 90 degrees. The hinge axis (3) is at such a distance from the prismatic seating (4) and the probe (6, 6') that the probe point (6') lies on the centre line of the prismatic seating (4).
