The base is fastened to the floor by screws. The housing typically rectangular to match the base, has a flange which fits over and locates on the base. The housing has openings on two sides to take whatever fitting it is intended to install. Into these openings fit cover plates, which are either solid or open, and which locate against rails forming part of the housing. The cover plates have a dowel projection which is pushed through corresponding holes, in the housing and base thus locating all parts. It is advantageous if the dowels have a snap action in the holes. Separate dowels can be used if necessary.
