1,260,205. Blow-moulding; removal and deflashing. G. HANSEN. 25 Nov., 1969 [6 Dec., 1968], No. 57576/69. Heading B5A. Blow-moulding apparatus comprises an extrusion head 63, Fig. 1, having a blowing and filling mandrel 69/70, blow mould halyes, 12, 12a having neck mould halves 13, 13a and mounted on a pair of endless chain conveyers. A parison 81 is continuously extruded into the closed moulds which move at a corresponding speed, and close the parison by welding its lower end. Blowing tube 69 moves downwardly with the moulds and returns after it has blown one container. Filling material is then supplied through tube 70, mould parts 13, 13a are closed and the neck-portion then blowmoulded. The left-hand blow mould halves contain a peg 95 extending into the container base to retain the moulded container, assisted by offset roller 96. The container then falls down shoot 98 or is stripped by resilient-bladed stripper 101 on to conveyer 106. On movement along conveyer 106, Fig. 2, the containers are stopped by U-shaped stop-bar 114 until pusher bar 132 is retracted by cylinder 131. They are then allowed to move on to U-shaped stop-bar 113 and moved on to tracks 151 by bar 132. Rejects are fed past stop-bar 113 along the conveyer 106. The containers are held in separator 150 by hold-down bars 162, 162a and are deflashed at their heads by a pair of counter-rotating rollers 155a (and 154a, Fig. 4, not shown) and at their bases by rollers 155 (and 154). The rollers each have a spiral projection 177, 177a. The containers are then pushed further along tracks 151 by the succeeding set.
