The subject matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 1,274,581 but the claims are directed to a method and apparatus for dressing a grinding wheel having a cylindrical body portion terminating at one end in an annular cutting surface in which the grinding wheel is rotated about its axis in contact with a dressing tool and simultaneously a reciprocating relative axial feeding motion is provided between the grinding wheel and dressing tool to provide grooves in the cutting surface.
