Method for coating boards or panels on one face to various coating thicknesses consists of introducing the board into a one-piece or divisible negative mould contg. liquid, colourless or coloured, setting plastics; this coats the face and also the edges of the board in one single operation. Pref. the support material is of low density and has a loose structure which can absorb air bubbles present in the coating material. The pref. coating material is a low reactivity polyester based upon isophthalic acid, adipic acid, maleic acid anhydride and diethylene glycol, combined with an unsatd. monomer such as styrol, or phthalic acid butyl ester with the usual additives.
