1384397 Refrigerating SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 15 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 60274/71 Heading F4H A method of operating a refrigeration apparatus including a screw rotor type compressor 10, condenser 12, evaporator 14, oil separator 26 and a pump 30 for injecting the separated oil into the compressor, comprises introducing liquid refrigerant from the condenser through a conduit 32 either into the compressor or the refrigerant flow circuit thereafter in dependence on the difference between the temperatures in the separator and condenser so as to prevent this difference from rising above a predetermined level or falling to zero. The predetermined level is maintained 5‹ to 15‹ C. higher than the liquefaction temperature of the refrigerant at the pressure prevailing in the oil separator. The temperatures may be sensed by thermocouple parts 35, 36 operating through a mechanism 34 a valve 33 in the conduit 32 or there may be provided in the oil separator a temperature sensing device and pressure sensing device which are connected to a computer adapted to produce a signal representing the difference between the temperature in the separator and the liquefaction temperature of the refrigerant at the pressure in the separator. A variable capacity compressor as described in Specification 1,171,291 is utilized.
