Spindles for accommodating yarn bobbins have an external peripheral, ridge-like protrusion for association with the perforated sleeves holding the wound bobbins. Achieves perfect centering on placing together several sleeves, which may be of plastic and of traditional cylindrical type. The structure does not require intermediate plates, and the sleeves are internally supported and centered in such a manner that deformation cannot arise. Pref. the spindle (2) has a helical ridge (3) which passes over the whole length of the spindle. Annular ridges may be alternatively distributed throughout the length of the spindle at intervals.
