The sifting machine has two lots of supports mounted on the sieve frame and supporting the sieve base, and a spindle is mounted between the two first supports. Two perpendicular blade-like attachments are provided diametrically opposite each other along the spindle and together with the latter form the second support, and the adjoining sides of two following sieve sections are fastened off-set at right angles to each other on these attachments. Manufacture and maintenance costs are thereby reduced particularly as the careful precision required for maintaining two vibratory frame systems is no longer necessary. Typically the drive in the system imparts a rotary motion of 400-900 r.p.m.
