Heat treatment appts. particularly for the fixing of textiles, comprises a screen drum which can be kept under suction and which has a peforated drum casing on which the textile rests during treatment. In the needling zone there are two or more rows of members for securing the textile in position, and one of the rows can be adjusted axially over the width from outside. A heater, pref. infra-red, affects the material held in the clamping members before it comes into contact with the drum.
