The machine includes means for the drawn wire forged head pin to be displaced to permit its clipping to length in a plane different from that in which the head is formed and its subsequent disposal, there also being provided an electric alarm in case of faulty cutting to length of the wire. The method permits increase of the prodn. rate of the wire pins mainly because there is no need for long pin length determined travel of the heading punch.
