Twisted cord prodn - by passing first thread into rotating hollow device and withdrawing together with second thread

Twisted cords are produced by (a) passing a first thread into one end of a rotating hollow device open at both ends so that the thread is twisted, and temporarily accumulated in the form of twisted thread on an internal wall of the hollow device, (b) withdrawing the first thread from the other open end of the hollow device together with a second thread which has not been temporarily accumulated, and (c) rotating the hollow device during withdrawal so that the first-thread is at least partly untwisted and combined with the second thread to form a twisted cord. Method can be used for a wide range of threads, including synthetic and inorg. threads.
