The mantissae of decimal cologarithms (log 1/X) are read from the millimeter scale, in conjunction with a scale 10/X on the slider (SB), and a logarithmic scale of eSPx/SP is provided. The cursor (Fig. 5) is constructed of a transparent thermoplastic, and is folded at a to run in a track of the stock (SA), and at b to provide an extension over the millimeter scale. The cursor is further guided by a double bowed steel strip 2 riveted to the cursor, and carries semicylindrical magnifying lenses 4, 5. In addition to the usual scale, a scale (P) (Fig. 2, not reproduced) of the values #1-XSP2/SP is provided on the stock, together with an exponential scale eSPx/SP (Fig. 3, not reproduced) begining at the value e, on the slider.
